TKO 25: CONFRONTATION: THE RETURN OF THE MACHINE AND THE RISE OF THE POLISH HAMMER

(MONTREAL, CANADA), April 4th, 2006 – TKO Major League MMA is ecstatic to feature the return of the greatest champion in TKO history, MARK “THE MACHINE” HOMINICK (10-4-0, 9 times TKO champion)! Many experts were saying he was too small, outgunned and in for the beating of his life at UFC 58 when he was set to fight UFC’s #1 lightweight Yves Edwards. Hominick never trash talked back; he only chose to say, “He’s one of my favorite fighters and I’m sure it will be an exciting fight”.

Some thought that was an admission in itself and that he knew defeat was imminent. The experts were all wrong! Instead, he now returns to Montreal having dominated the best 155lbs fighter in the Super Bowl of MMA, the UFC! The win skyrocketed Hominick to the number two ranked Featherweight in the world! Hominick puts it all on the line at TKO 25: CONFRONTATION™ to be held on May, 5th 2006 from the Pierre-Charbonneau Center in Montreal, Canada. The Montreal fans have truly treated Hominick as one of their own and accordingly, Hominick has chosen to honor them with another defense of his TKO Championship!

CHRIS “THE POLISH HAMMER” HORODECKI (3-0-0) is off to the perfect start in his young MMA career. He’s ended all three of his fights with brutal knockouts. In fact, his knockout of David Goulet at TKO 23 won the TKO award for the best knockout of 2005! Trainer Shawn Tompkins and TKO CEO Stephane Patry both recognized that at the tender age of 18 years old, Horodecki had all the tools to be a great MMA Champion. Accordingly, he was dubbed “the Sidney Crosby of MMA”. Thus far, he’s certainly lived up to that billing, but at TKO 25: CONFRONTATION, MIKE BELL (2-1-0) will try to change all that. Bell is a hard-nosed striker from Edmonton, Alberta who is determined to put Horodecki to sleep, either on his feet or on the ground. This has fight of the night written all over it!

THIERRY QUENNEVILLE (9-4-0) is looking to continue his ascension up TKO’s Featherweight division as he battles New-Mexico’s own DAMACIO PAGE (6-0-0). Quenneville, a massively popular local fighter, dreams to one day hold the TKO Championship around his waist. He’s amassed a very impressive TKO record, but he’s slipped against two very tough Gibson Pankration fighters, Ryan Diaz and Blake Fredrickson. A win over Page would earn him a heap of respect and definitely get him a lot closer to a coveted title shot. At TKO 24, Page dropped the jaws of the fans when he knocked out Stephane Vigneault with a flying overhand right. Page has ended all of his fights in the first round (except for one which went two rounds) by either submission or strikes. He is touted as one of the most exciting, up and coming, featherweight fighters in the world! Hold on to your seats because this should be one fantastic bout!

FABIO HOLANDA (2-4-0) will duel with another extraordinary grappler, ALVIN ROBINSON (5-0-0). At TKO 24, Holanda fell a hair short of the biggest win in his career over UFC veteran Rich Clementi. Holanda’s admirable attitude of only wanting to fight the best will again be obliged by TKO management as they’ve found a true submission specialist for him to do battle with. Robinson has won all of his fights by submission and expects to do the same here. This fight has a sense of urgency to it as Holanda cannot afford another loss on his record while Robinson wants to continue his perfect record in MMA on his way to the TKO lightweight title.

MARTIN DESILETS (3-0-0) returns to the ring after a double disqualification in his last appearance. Those that have seen Desilets fight know that he brings unparalleled aggression and rage with him into the ring. He looks as though he’s trying to send his opponent’s jaw into the 5th row every time he takes a big swing with his overhand left punch! After being disqualified in his last appearance, one can only dare to imagine the attitude he’s going to carry with him into this fight!

JARID BUSSEMAKER (1-0-0) will make his highly anticipated TKO debut against formidable striker, MARTIN GRANDMONT (2-2-0). Bussemaker impressed everyone at the Maximum Fighting Championships in his professional debut, winning by strikes in round one. He was dubbed by TKO CEO Stephane Patry as one of the future stars coming out of Canada. Onlookers will pay close attention as he steps up his competition against former kick-boxing champion, Martin Grandmont. This should be another very entertaining clash between two devastating strikers!

GREG COMPTON (5-1-0) will be on his guard as he encounters thrilling striker, STEPHANE DUBE (1-1-0). Compton is trying to start a new winning streak after his most recent loss to Stephane Vigneault which was described by many to be a war of epic proportions. Dube has been on a two year hiatus since knocking out Kajan Johnson back at TKO 15, with probably the best spinning back kick the sport has ever seen! Expect some fireworks in this classic matchup between the grappler and the striker!

TKO 25: CONFRONTATION will also feature the return of two local heroes, DONALD OUIMET (10-5-0) and STEVE CLAVEAU (1-5-0)! Former Champion, Ouimet will try to find his winning ways again after tasting defeat twice to the hands of TKO’s current Lightweight Champion, Sam Stout. Claveau, the inspirational leader of Team Legion, is also coming off a loss to Stout. Much like the other highly revered local trainer, Fabio Holanda, Claveau has only ever fought the very best in his weight class. Claveau’s and Ouimet’s opponents along with much, much more exciting information on this astounding fight card will be announced shortly only on TKOMMA.tv!
