Holly Holm and Juliana Werner to Square Off for Inaugural Legacy FC Bantamweight Belt

Holly HolmUndefeated knockout artist Holly Holm (6-0) will take on Brazilian kickboxer Juliana Werner (7-3) for the inaugural Legacy Fighting Championship women’s bantamweight title.

Holly Holm ventured into a career in mixed martial arts after being a multiple-time world champion boxer, even being regarded as one of the best female boxers of all time.

Holm debuted with Legacy atLegacy FC 21 in July where she delivered a highlight-reel head kick knockout to Allanna Jones. She followed that performance with a TKO victory over Nikki Knudsen at Legacy FC 24 in October. Five of her six wins have come by way of TKO or KO.

Juliana Werner is a decorated kickboxer. Some of her accomplishments include being a six-time Brazilian National Champion, two-time South American Champion, Pan American Champion, and runner-up at the WAKO World Championships in 2013. Werner is currently riding a five-fight win streak, with four of her seven wins coming by way of TKO or KO.

Holm and Werner are expected to meet for the title at Legacy’s first event in Holm’s hometown of Alburquerque, N.M., in early April of 2014.
