For three UFC fighters, next week’s WEC fight card could be do or die as far as their fight future’s in the Octagon go. James Irvin’s rise in 205 took a speed bump when he lost to Stephan Bonnar at Ultimate Fight 3. Now he can’t afford another loss at this point of his career if he wants to be back in the Octagon. For Irvin next Friday he goes head to head against another UFC fighter, for Season One’s Ultimate Fighter in Lodune Sincaid.
Hermes Franca makes his return to MMA as he had some bad luck when he lost back to back split decisions to Yves Edwards and Josh Thomson in the Octagon. Now if he wants to return to the 155 division he will have WEC Lightweight Champion Gabe “Godzilla’ Rudeiger starring across from him. For Gabe, he feels this is his opportunity to make his name in the sport and with a win could find himself in the Octagon.
Tiki makes his return to the WEC for the first time in two years as he looks to get back into the fight game. Razor Rob McCullough will slug it out with Olaf as well on the show.
The most interesting matchup could be when King of the Cage Champion, Urijah Faber meets WEC champion Cole Escovedo in a champion vs champion fight. Here is the full card for next week’s show…..
