Gray Maynard has gone through a lot of changes since his last fight, but the one constant is the fact that he still wants to be UFC lightweight champion.

Maynard spoke to MMAWeekly.com in a one-on-one interview on Wednesday to preview his upcoming fight with Clay Guida and talk about the changes he’s made over the last 8 months.

Looking at the title race, Maynard knows that he can make a major statement by ‘smashing’ Clay Guida.

This ought to be an interesting match up. Both these guys need a ” W ” to keep moving up the UFC Ladder if they ever wish on a tital shot.Wrestling goes to Gray, w/ a slight edge. Stamina goes to Clay w/ a slight edge. Boxing my gut says Gray. Heart may go to Clay. All these tecniques can be learned @ Sensei Jim (Judo & Boxing Gym Ohio)

OK AM GOING WITH GRAY FOR A 3RD ROUND TKO..YEA YEA I KNOW CLAY HAS INTENSE CARDIO BUT I THINK GRAY POWER WILL BE THE DECIDING FACTOR HERE. ANYONE WHO FOLLOWS MMA AND OR THE UFC KNOWS CLAY POWER IS LIMITED BUT AT THE SAME TIME HE THROWS ALOT OF PUNCHES,KICKS, ETC..WHILE ALL ALONG 1 GOOD PUNCH FROM GRAY WILL END THE FIGHT!!AND ANOTHER PLUS FOR GRAY IS HIS GRAPPLING..CLAYS NOT SRUB BUT AM THNKING GREY WILL BE A LIL TO MUCH FOR HIM TO HANDLE!!!
