Gray-Maynard-UFC-136-7449-Gray-460x270Gray Maynard and Nate Diaz step into the Octagon for the third time at Saturday night’s The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale in Las Vegas.

In Maynard’s mind, the fight is a means to an end.

“Obviously, I wanna get back at the belt, but I can’t look past Diaz,” he said.

It’s sage advice he’s given himself, considering that they split their first two meetings. Diaz submitted Maynard during their stint on The Ultimate Fighter, while Maynard won a split decision in their rematch at UFC Fight Night 20.

Pettis, Thompson, Edgar (assuming he goes back to 155), Melendez, Maynard doesn’t need to worry about Diaz at all. Even if he gets a win, he will never get by the murderer’s row above him

    • I would love to see Maynard go against Melendez, Henderson or Sanchez, Division is still deep. I don’t see him getting into title contention anytime soon though which is rough considering Edgar did nothing but rematches the entire time he had the belt. This fights important for both guys, whoever losses will be in the back of the line.
