Gladiator Challenge Face Off Lakeport, California
The busiest promotion in North America Gladiator Challenge returned to Northern California for “Face Off.” The card featured a lot of young fighters breaking into the game in front of a standing room only crowd.
The main event featured fast rising prospect Tyson Griffin versus mma veteran Chuck Kim. The fight started out a feverish pace with Griffin applying pressure and Kim using his wrestling background to counter Griffin’s aggression.
Both fighters showed a lot of ground skills as
they transitioned from position to position as both guys tried to establish and advantage. After the first: 90 seconds Griffin began to dominate, diving into Kim’s guard landing big combinations to the body and the head. As
a result Kim gave his back and Griffin quickly applied the rear naked choke at 3:40 seconds of the first round. Griffin’s record now stands at 6-0 with all 6 victories coming by way of submission or TKO. Uriah Faber is
the only opponent so far to make it out of the first round with Griffin.
James Fanisher easily handled Konrad Miles – TKO round 1.
Gladiator Challenge match maker Kyle Williams defeated Cesar Moreno in a grudge match settling a personal dispute between the 2.
Travers Collins TKO’d Randal Limond in the first round.
Sean Bias caught Justin Truesdale by rear naked choke in the first round.
Nate Loughran had the submission of the card with a nasty shoulder lock that had Eric Hayes tapping 20 seconds into the first round.
