Former UFC champion Frank Mir has steadily built his striking arsenal, but let’s not forget what a threatening submission specialist he is; Cheick Kongo surely hasn’t.

Mir next steps into the Octagon at UFC 169 on Feb. 1, to face a man regarded for his knockout power, Alistair Overeem.

But first, check out Mir’s impressive first-round submission of Cheick Kongo at UFC 107.

Next fight will be Mir’s last one in the UFC.

Generally, I would agree with you 100%. Mir used to be my favorite fighter, with his amazing JJ skills. But he has too soft a chin. Anyways, Dana white said that if the fight is “good” enough, it might not be either guys last fight. I say Mir gets ko’d in first round, and I’m a fan of the guy. But, if it’s an exciting fight before he gets knocked out, he might not be gone yet. The two main events should be awesome regardless!

Mir is on TRT for his fight with Over-rated-Reem, he’s going to crush him.
