Former UFC champion Frank Mir has steadily built his striking arsenal, but let’s not forget what a threatening submission specialist he is; Cheick Kongo surely hasn’t.

Mir next steps into the Octagon at UFC 169 on Feb. 1, to face a man regarded for his knockout power, Alistair Overeem.

But first, check out Mir’s impressive first-round submission of Cheick Kongo at UFC 107.

      Generally, I would agree with you 100%. Mir used to be my favorite fighter, with his amazing JJ skills. But he has too soft a chin. Anyways, Dana white said that if the fight is “good” enough, it might not be either guys last fight. I say Mir gets ko’d in first round, and I’m a fan of the guy. But, if it’s an exciting fight before he gets knocked out, he might not be gone yet. The two main events should be awesome regardless!
