It’s a shame that was stopped right then. Herb didn’t stop it when Fedor had Hendo rocked just as bad right before that.

    • TheCerealKiller

      Dan didn’t go limp.

Every punch in that was a wild looping haymaker.

      • Piotr

Fedor didn’t really go limp either. He fell the exact same way Dan did, except Dan was standing and collapsed to his back.

I think the difference is in the positioning. Fedor was face down and taking shots and unable to defend himself in that position. The referee has to make a quick decision in that case.

What kept Fedor on the ground for a second, is the 2 shots he got to the back of the head.

        • sdelfin

I think, if you go down in that face-down position, you’re already vulnerable to one or two shots before you can react. If you look at the video, what kept Fedor down was that his arms were not in a good position to push off the mat. You can see him adjust his arm position before he turned. I was rooting for Henderson in the fight, but I thought Fedor could have been given a bit more consideration. It’s easier to think that when when you’re not the referee in the cage, though.

Sad to say by looking at the video i think Fedor is one of the greatest fighters but i think he past his prime.

    • Piotr

He was doing great until he got reversed and rocked. He didn’t even get the chance to recover like Dan got. Anyway, he’s retired now and will always be the Greatest fighter of his time.

  • fedor was winning

that was one of the worst stappages that ref must went to the herb dean school of ref

    • Piotr

      That was Herb Dean.

    • taylor2008

How was that one of the worst? Did you see Fedor go completely limp? THen Dan was raining down punches. Herb stepped in and slowed those punches down or Fedor would have been pummeled. And I am a Fedor fan.

  • fedor was winning

how does herb dean still ref hell if i ever fight hope he refs the fight land one punch in he call it off

  • julian moran

Early stoppage. Fedor was hurt, then received 2 big shots to the back of the head, then recovered, then the ref. jumped in.

Originally they had the fight as a ko win for Henderson.. They then changed it to tko, considering Fedor was fully conscious when the ref stopped the fight.

  • Joe Dog

All one can say is that Henderson got lucky, very lucky to have that in his “win” column.

  • RP

To say that was a bad stop shows true incompetence. Fedor went completely limp and Herb Dean immediately stepped in as he should have. Dan threw a few more punches after the fight was already stopped which is when Fedor came too.

  • Shartnado2, the Sloppy One

Bad stoppage, Fedor was rocked but not out

    • RubeKegal

Dana White had a special bonus for Herb after this one!

  • J morrow

Anybody who thinks it was an early dtoppage is just such a Fedor fan they cant except the truth. I like Fedor, but come on. Even if it wasn’t stop what do you think would happen in the next 5 seconds

    • Manuel Lopez

It WAS an early stoppage by Herb (main event killer) Dean and besides that, it was not a legit win since Hendo was juiced up with TRT. Normal Hendo vs Fedor, Fedor would’ve destroyed!

      • Manuel Lopez

Yea f$&& you a$$hole and your stupid poster name.

  • RubeKegal

    I disagree completely

  • Joe Dog

KO, yes. Good stoppage, yes. Extremely lucky, yes indeed.
