The UFC’s Canadian crew was extremely busy on Thursday adding bouts to both UFC 152 in Toronto and UFC 154 in Montreal.
The UFC 154 fight card, still several months away in November, grew with the addition of Pablo Garza vs. Mark Hominick and Francis Carmont vs. Tom Lawlor.
Both Garza (11-3) and Hominick (20-11) have fallen on hard times and need a victory to ensure UFC tenure. Garza is coming off back-to-back losses to Dustin Poirier and Dennis Bermudez. Hominick has dropped three straight, albeit to Jose Aldo, Chan Sung Jung, and Eddie Yagin.
Carmont (19-7) has been streaking to the tune of eight consecutive victories and will be fighting in a support bout for his teammate, Georges St-Pierre. Lawlor (8-4) has been sporadic in his UFC career, but is coming off of a victory over Jason MacDonald.
St-Pierre is expected to return in the UFC 154 main event after a year and a half layoff due to injury to unify his welterweight belt with that of interim champion Carlos Condit.
UFC 154 takes place on Nov. 17 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
