The UFC 149 fight card for July 21 in Calgary continues to grow at a rapid pace. The UFC on Tuesday evening added a featherweight fight between Antonio Carvalho and George Roop to the line-up.
Roop (12-9-1) has his back against the wall in this one. He’s coming off of back-to-back losses to Cub Swanson and Hatsu Hioki, and has lost three of his four bouts since making the jump from the WEC to the UFC.
He really needs to get his career back on track, starting with UFC 149.
Carvalho (13-5) could do with a victory himself, having lost his Octagon debut at UFC 142 in Brazil. He dropped a unanimous decision to Felipe Arantes, after having won three consecutive bouts to fight his way into the Octagon.
UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo is expected to headline the UFC 149 fight card, although no opponent has yet been named.
