MMAWeekly has learned that Ian Freeman will continue his MMA return when he battles Mark Epstein on September 30th at the Cage Rage event in London, England. Freeman will battle Mark Epstein for Cage Rage’s British Light Heavyweight Title.
Freeman was recently unsuccessful in his bid to win the promotion’s World Light Heavyweight Title when he was knocked out by Melvin Manhoef in 17 seconds. Epstein is looking to continue his five-fight winning streak, but arguably hasn’t faced an opponent of Freeman’s caliber since his knockout loss to Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos more than a year ago.
Also highlighting the card is a rumored bout between the “New York Bad Ass” Phil Baroni and Cage Rage British Middleweight Champion Mark Weir. Baroni and Weir fighters are looking to get back on the winning track after losing in Pride Bushido to Kazuo Misaki and Denis Kang, respectively.
Trevor Prangley, a veteran of the UFC, will face off with Pride veteran Gregory Bouchelaghem, and there will be several British title fights on the card as well.
