Rousimar Palhares UFC on Versus 3Rousimar Palhares has found a new MMA home, and it’s with the World Series of Fighting.

Following a dismissal from the UFC for unsportsmanlike conduct, Palhares has signed with WSOF, confirmed with company president Ray Sefo on Monday. USA Today / first reported news of the signing.

Palhares (15-5) exited the UFC after the company decided to terminate his contract for “repeated incidents of unsportsmanlike conduct violating the UFC Fighter Code of Conduct.” The latest incident was Palhares’ lengthy hold of a heel-hook submission on Mike Pierce at UFC Fight Night 29, which prompted UFC President Dana White to ban the fighter from competing in his company.

“This is the second incident we had with Palhares,” White told ESPN in October. “I’m going to cut him … He’s done.”

Done in the UFC, yes, but not in competition. Following his UFC release, Palhares was scheduled to compete in a no-gi jiu-jitsu match with Dean Lister at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo, but had to back out of the contest due to injury. The fighter will once again get a chance to compete in MMA, this time with WSOF.

Palhares’ first WSOF match-up and opponent are yet to be determined, Sefo said. The fighter’s debut will likely happen in March 2014, according to the report. will have updates on Palhares’ first WSOF match as more information becomes available.

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Paul Harris!

  • Seth

He had to land somewhere…IMO he should be banned from competition, but if someone would agree to fight him, good for him

  • PHsucks

I thought wsof didn’t want him “because his past is no good” oh well, good luck to his next victim. I hope is Fitch or Burkman lol

You’re right. A little over a month ago they said they didn’t want him. I guess they figured a little controversy could help get more viewers. They probably were right, as everyone wants to see that guy get smashed.

  • Good luck to him. I hope he has no further incidents. Would love to see how him and Fitch play out, that would be a great grappling match.

  • Lucas Freire

I’d love to see him making Askren tap out.
Never saw a B-fighter talk so much crap.
And I know Askren isn’t on WSOF, but I can only imagine it’s the only place for him to go.

I would not want to fight this dude based on his track record. Why take a chance on a career ending injury from a heel hook?

because if alan belcher can nullify it, i’m sure others can too. he’s gonna be one of the bigger names wsof has and i’m sure there are a bunch of guys willing to take the risk to potentially make a name for themselves.

I don’t usually wish anyone harm, but hopefully someone breaks this dudes leg or something so that he knows what it feels like to injure someone
