Tom “Kong” Watson made his successful return to fighting on Saturday night at BAMMA 9. He had been out of action for 10 months, recovering from injury.
After defeating Jack Marshman with a strong display of his varied striking skills, Watson is now left to decide what is next in his career.
He has made no secret of the fact that he’s talked to Strikeforce matchmaker Sean Shelby in the past, but as the reigning BAMMA middleweight champion, Watson isn’t shutting them out of the picture just yet. And of course, should the UFC come calling, like most fighter, Watson would absolutely listen.
“I wanted to just go out there and answer the questions,” Watson told Whoa! TV after defeating Marshman. “Now it’s down to organizations, BAMMA included in that, who wants to bid the highest. This is a business. This is what we do. And I’m not getting any younger, that’s for sure; so hopefully I can make some money.”
