For those who missed it late last night, MMAWeekly’s Scott Petersen reported live from Japan that the Final Four of the Pride Grand Prix has been finalized. The official annoucement may have been a surprise to some.

Wanderlei Silva made it clear that he wanted to fight Alistair Oveereem in the final four of the Pride Grand Prix, but now that won’t happen. Despite what was said by Silva after he defeated Nakamura, Pride is going a different route.

Pride made the official annoucnement last night at Bushido 8 as Mr. Takada unveiled the final four matchups as Wanderlei Silva will now fight Ricardo Arona, while Alistair Oveereem will square off against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

There are plenty of other rumors of fights that may or may not happen on the August 28th card so make sure you check our “Rumors” section at MMAWeekly.com for the latest talks regarding the Pride Grand Prix.
