BROOMFIELD,
Colo. – Ring of Fire 31 is set to take place on Saturday night at the
Broomfield Event Center. The main event features light heavyweight champion
Eliot Marshall defending his belt against “The Ultimate Fighter” season two
veteran Rob MacDonald, “Fighter Girls” star Michelle Waterson in a feature bout
versus Lynn Alvarez from Las Vegas, Christian Allen defending his featherweight
title against Lah Thao and a heavyweight title bout between undefeated Shane
Carwin and Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Sherman Pendergarst.

A longtime
supporter of female mixed martial arts, promoter Sven “Boogie” Bean has slated
three women’s bouts for this event.

The
fighters weighed in on Friday at CB & Potts in Broomfield and though the
three title bout participants all made weight, there were a few bumps in the
road.

Eric Davila
and Douglas Lima had contracted to fight at a catch-weight of 175 pounds.
Davila stepped on the scales at 179 pounds, while Lima weighed-in at 176.4.
Following discussions with Director Josef Mason of Colorado’s Office of Boxing,
which oversees MMA in the state, both fighters agreed to accept the fight.

Things were
a little more difficult for Sharayah Hefner, fighting out of Ft. Wayne, Ind.
She and Kate Martinez had contracted to fight at 118 pounds, according to
Martinez’s camp. Martinez weighed in at 118.6 pounds, but Hefner tipped the
scales at 122.0. Martinez’s camp agreed that they would accept the bout if
Hefner would cut two pounds. After about an hour-and-half of cutting, Hefner
weighed in at 120.6 pounds with her clothes on and Martinez’s camp agreed to
accept the fight.

The
preliminary bouts are scheduled to being at 6:30 p.m. MT on Saturday night at
the Broomfield Event Center.
