Fedor Emelianenko will return to action in his native Russia to face Jeff Monson with the fight now official for Moscow on Nov 20.

M-1 Global officials confirmed the bout on Thursday.

As MMAWeekly.com first reported on Sept. 7, both Emelianenko and Monson had been issued bout agreements for the November fight and it was just a matter of time before the contest was official.

Now both have signed contracts and the fight is on.

The only caveat that was still in a holding pattern was the final date, which has now been determined with Nov. 20 being the targeted time frame for an M-1 Global show in Moscow.

The event is expected to take place at Moscow’s Olympic Stadium.

Emelianenko gets back in action after suffering three losses in a row while competing under the Strikeforce banner. The legendary fighter most recently suffered a TKO loss to Dan Henderson in July.

    Fedor needs to win!

    I mean, he should?

I couldn’t care less about this tune-up fight. He should be able to beat Monson, or he needs to retire.

  • I am waiting for the Day Fedor can get passed the obviously bad management he is being plagued with. The Last Emporor needs to cut down to a lighter weight class and start terrorizing that division!! and get his ass into the UFC….those 3 losses can be nothing but a bad dream and down time in his career if he just evolves….it is time.
