Mike Brown, at Sunday night’s WEC 39 in Corpus Christi,
Texas, clearly established both his claim to the WEC featherweight championship
and his position as the No. 1 rated 145-pound fighter in the world. In just
under two minutes, he dropped challenger Leonard Garcia to the mat and choked
him into submission.

WEC newcomer quickly established himself in the promotion’s
lightweight division, besting Bart Palaszewski over the course of their
three-round bout. Jose Aldo dispatched of Chris Mickle in short order,
increasing his stock as a rising featherweight contender. And "Razor"
Rob McCullough got back on the winning track with a decision win over Marcus
Hicks.
