Every fighter wants to take steps up the ladder and Eduardo Pamplona and Tyler Stinson will get their opportunity to do just that fighting on the preliminary portion of the Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson fight card on July 30 in Chicago.
Pamplona (15-2) gets the quick callback to Strikeforce after the first-round TKO stoppage of Jerron Peoples at Strikeforce Challengers 16 in June. The 35-year-old Brazilian has won 10 consecutive fights that stretch back to a loss to Robbie Lawler in early 2007.
He trains at Black House with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, and the Nogueira brothers. This will be Pamplona’s second bout on a three-fight contract with Strikeforce.
Stinson (20-7) has spent the majority of his career fighting in the Midwestern United States. He fought four times under the Bellator banner, going 2-2 after earning his opportunity in the promotion via an open tryout.
Pamplona marks one of his biggest tests and brightest opportunities to date.
A heavyweight showdown between Fedor Emelianenko and Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Dan Henderson headlines the July 30 fight card on Showtime.
