Eddie Alvarez vs Tatsuya Kawajiri Dream 5On Tuesday morning, Bellator MMA announced that it had reached a settlement with lightweight fighter Eddie Alvarez.

Alvarez, a member of the Blackzilians fight team in Florida, had been waging a legal battle against Bellator owners Viacom over his right to go to the UFC. Facing a long legal battle that could easily keep him out of the cage until 2015, Alvarez elected instead to come to a deal with Bellator. He’ll return to their cage on Nov. 2 for a rematch against current Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler, who defeated Alvarez for the belt on Nov. 29, 2011.

MMAWeekly.com official content partner Bleacher Report presents the first sit-down interview with Alvarez, conducted by contributor Alexandra Robinson. In the interview, Alvarez explains his reasoning behind settling with Bellator and much more.

Oh Eddie, you caved in. Their PPV will never sell more than 1000 buys. I like your fight, but not TNA fight or any fight with Askren in it. Not worth $35-$50 depending on the cable provider.

Understandable! He needs to eat & has a limited self life. Sponsors may have deopped hin if inactive and now Bellator are doing ppv’s gis legal argument is weakened.

You corrected those two things but didn’t fix, “deopped” and “gis?”

I just hope he got what he should’ve he is a great fighter to watch but still will not buy the ppv I would if Eddie and Michael was headlining but two old guys that have never fought in the bellator cage headlining the first ppv that’s called wolf tickets Tito has won 2 fights in like 6 years rampage has lost last three. Bellator is trying to sell names not fights. If you want to watch this go to firstrowsports its free to watch:-)
