Junior dos Santos and Frank MirUFC 146: dos Santos vs. Mir featured one the biggest line-ups, literally, in the promotion’s history.

All 24 fighters on the UFC 146 fight card were drug tested, according to Nevada Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer. All 24 tests came back negative.

UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos defeated Frank Mir in the main event, putting him away via TKO in the second round, just as dos Santos had predicted.

The UFC 146 fight card wasn’t without its drug test issues, however.

Six of the 10 main card heavyweights were drug tested following a kickoff press conference in March. Original heavyweight title challenger Alistair Overeem returned results for an elevated ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone.

His results showed a ratio of 14-to-1, well above the Nevada limit of 6-to-1.

Overeem was eventually removed from the card and Mir slotted in to take his place against dos Santos. He also went before the Nevada Athletic Commission where he agreed not to fight again for nine months. After the nine months is up, Overeem can reapply for a license to fight in the state.

Still mad we didn’t get to see Overeem vs. Dos Santos.

Overeem single handily ruined what could have been an amazing card. Not being able to fight JDS led to a domino affect that shuffled the fight card and created a main card full of mis-matches. First round finishes are always fun, but we missed out on some great matchups.
