The Japanese promotion will kick off the tournament on May 29 at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
The match-ups are as follows:
– Yoshiro Maeda (28-9-2) vs. Hideo Tokoro (27-23-1)
– Masakazu Imanari (21-8-2) vs. Keisuke Fujiwara (11-2-4)
– Darren Uyenoyama (6-3) vs. Atsushi Yamamoto (14-6-1)
– Kenji Osawa (16-9-2) vs. Takafumi Otsuka (11-7-1)
In addition to the opening round of the Grand Prix, fighters such as Shinya Aoki, Joachim Hansen, Mitsuhiro Ishida, Caol Uno, Akiya “Wicky” Nishiura, and Katsunori Kikuno are expected to appear on the show.
This will be the first Dream show since the year end promotion, and after speculation ran wild that the organization along with fellow Japanese promotion Sengoku were in serious financial trouble.
While there are no future guarantees, it appears Dream has staved off any talk of closing its doors, at least for now.
