Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is a fighter that gets on gittin’ on when it’s time to fight. That attitude led him to a win over Dennis Siver at UFC 137 on Saturday night in Las Vegas, which puts him at a streak of six consecutive victories, including his first four UFC fights.
Cerrone is now mentioned when it comes to title talk in the UFC’s lightweight division, but he says that’s a little premature… at least as far as he is concerned.
“I’m glad I went to the WEC first. Because if I would have (come to the UFC) then, I wouldn’t have put it together,” he said after defeating Siver.
“It’s happening so fast. Title talk in a year? Oh man, I thought it was gonna take a couple years. Am I in direct line for a title? No. I don’t wanna just go after it. I still have a lot of soul searching to do.”
