Diego Sanchez’s Quick Return is Personal

After a less than satisfactory performance in a loss to Myles Jury at UFC 171, Diego Sanchez is out to show, as much to himself as to his legion of fight fans, that Jury wasn’t fighting the usual Diego, the best Diego.

Leading up to the fight with Jury, Sanchez felt he was on point, but he made a bad choice prior to the fight that led to “no pep in his step.”

“I want to show where I am as a mixed martial arts fighter because I am better than I ever have been in my career.”

He’s preparing to make a quick return against Ross Pearson at UFC Fight Night Albuquerque on June 7.

    By “quick return”, you mean him puking up the raw beef and egg that he eats the night before his fight, correct? Honestly though, Sanchez is a clown. Anyone who eats raw beef in advance of a fight (or uses that as an excuse for poor performance) doesn’t even deserve to be a pro-fighter

            Oh stop. I could stumble into the octagon drunk off my ass and weighing 400+ pounds, get armbarred by every tattooed meathead they throw at me and I STILL wouldn’t be stupid enough to eat raw beef and egg before I did.

            some people say cucumbers taste better pickled. Dont see why your so against raw beef and eggs. Lots of people do it. Get with the times broseph

          My comment was pure sarcasm…Don’t judge a fighter, based on what he does outside the cage. Recall Luke Cummo – one of the weirdest TUF contestants ever, but did pretty good back ten.

          It’s pretty delicious though…had it a few times. Chances are Diego is completely full of crap…he was in Dallas, Tx…one of the beef capitals of the country…and unless he was at some ghetto ass restaurant the chances of him getting food poisoning is slim to none. My brother in laws little brother is a chef, and a UFC fan and he said that 9 out of 10 places that serve steak carpachio cook it for a few seconds all the way around to kill any bacteria.

          I think he is just making excuses for him getting his butt handed to him.

            Well he states that he got it from ordering at the hotel that he was staying at the night before the fight…raw beef with quail eggs.still not smart

            It’s not against the rules to eat raw meat or drink pee…but lets be real…what idiot would let there fighter…or what idiot fighter would eat something like that the night before a fight?

            I didn’t mean DQ as DQ from a fight. I meant DQ as being DQ from being a pro-fighter, like Damian wrote in his first comment here.

          Scientifically speaking drinking your own waste is bad for you. Their is a reason your body gets rid of it.

            Theyre right. If you drink the first pee of the day it actually replenishes some nutrients. Its only the first pee of the day though. Any other time youre right

    Diego coming back soon is purely financial I can almost guarantee. He got his ass handed to him by Jury. Any fighter with any type of striking skills will be able to pick apart Diegos rockem sockem robots style. Diego is in it now purely for the money…he is never going to make it anywhere close to a belt again.

      I agree but if he looses again that will be 3 in a row (4 if u count that gomi was robbed) and he could get cut, and im not sure that he is gonna make same money in belattor or wsof..

        Very true. But the UFC signed him to a new 8 fight contract after the Melendez fight, his 2nd(I also believe he lost the Gomi fight so we’ll call it his third). So I doubt they will cut him…but I wouldn’t be surprised.

          they will prob keep him, the fights he is in are usually entertaining and has a good fan base, that usually enough for the ufc

        Diego will not get cut any time soon, he’s one of the original TUF members, Dana treats them a lot better than most. Not to mention, as much as I dislike Diego & his pathetic excuses, his fights are entertaining. Just like Garcia, he lost plenty of fights, but he was still on the roster. A guy who has won fight of the night awards & just won fight of the year isn’t going to get cut in the near future, especially after just signing a long term contract!

    every loss he has some excuse…he ate bad food. He had staph against KOS, Fitch had a 20 pound weight advantage, he didn’t train hard against Hathaway, he would have beat Ellenberger if it was a 5 round fight…he thought he won the fight against Melendez because he made angrier faces and yelled more while throwing punches. The guy used to preach about how he hated guys who make excuses, now he is that guy.
