About the fight against Parisyan, Diego said, ” I wanted it more, fought with more heart.” He also mentioned one of his coaches, Rob Garcia, saying,”He’s the best strength conditioner coach in the world”.

Diego is setting his sites on the championship and the man holding the belt- Matt Hughes. Diego said ,”…when it’s time to fight for the title, it’s time to fight for the title.” Opening up further he said, “I tell you this gut feelings been with me for awhile about fighting Matt Hughes, probably about like since 10 of my fights back when I fought Mike Guymon in Vegas. Hughes was cornering him. I beat Guymon, I looked down at Hughes and ever since I caught eyes with him it’s been my dream and my destiny to go in there an challenge the shampion and beat the champion and go in there and knock him out.”
