With just over two weeks to go until the WEC debuts in Columbus, OH, matchmaker Sean Shelby will be working the phones to find a replacement for Diego Nunes, who has been forced out of his bout against Leonard Garcia with an undisclosed injury.

Nunes’ removal from the fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the situation.

At this time, there has been no official word what injury sidelined Nunes or how long he’ll be out, but unfortunately he will not be able to fight on March 6.

Leonard Garcia will remain on the upcoming card set at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, and all signs point to the WEC looking for a replacement to step in and face the Greg Jackson trained fighter.

Stay tuned to MMAWeekly.com for more information on Garcia’s replacement opponent as it becomes available.
