Bruson, who fights out of the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York, enters with fight with a spotless 7-0 record. It will be his second bout in quick succession under the Strikeforce banner, having defeated Jeremy Hamilton at Strikeforce Challengers 16 in June.
Sayers (4-1) has spent his career honing his chops on the Colorado fight scene. He last fought in January, defeating Edward Banks. All four of Sayers’ professional victories have come by way of submission.
The two meet on the preliminary portion of Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson. The July 30 main event in Chicago features former No. 1 heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko against Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Dan Henderson in a heavyweight non-title fight.
