Once again Herb Dean stops one too early. Brunson only landed the one good punch. Two other made minor contact before Herb stopped it. Brunson might have broken his fist driving it into the mat.

Oddly earlier Herb let one go on too long.

Before Big John was stopped from being a ref for UFC events Herb Dean was often called out for stopping fights too soon. Especially in a time where refs commonly let fights go much longer.

After Big Jon was gone pundits and commentators decided to label him as “the best ref in the buissness.” With John being away this might have been true, however the standards for the man holding that title dropped dramatically.

Sometimes Herb seems like a summer school teacher that believes he’s supposed to break up the fight as soon as I occurs.

I’ll give Herb this though, it is highly unlikely that any fighter gets hurt on his watch.
