They didn’t win their fights this weekend in the finale of the Ultimate Fighter 2, however when it’s all said and done they definitely will be back fighting again in the UFC Octagon.
MMAWeekly.com has learned that both Luke Cummo and Brad Imes, even in defeat, have been offered contracts with the UFC. Cummo, lost to Joe Stevenson by decision on Saturday night, but fought one of the most entertaining battles of the evening. Luke matched Stevenson’s intensity in the fight and was the crowd favorite throughout the fight. Because of his performance, the UFC offered him a contract after the fight.
Same could be said for the “Hillbilly Heartthrob” Brad Imes. Imes was knocked down a few times in his fight with Rashad Evans, but each time he got up off the canvas, stood back up and brought the fight to Evans. Imes shocked everyone by coming back in each round and putting up one of the most courageous performances in the Octagon. Even after a broken nose and hand, he may have lost a split decision, but won a UFC contract after the fight. Both contracts are believed to be three fight deals.
After another successful Finale on Spike TV, Zuffa is already planning season’s three and possibly four of the show. Spike TV, who agreed to the first three episodes, is already looking into Season 4 as well. Spike has been very pleased with the direction of the show and the ratings have been very good in their target demographic of 18-34 age group.
