Randy Couture is looking forward to his battle with Chuck Liddell next weekend in the main event at UFC 57. Couture had plenty to talk about including his battle with Liddell. Couture said on the radio show today, “I look forward to a third shot and dropping him on his head…” he said with a laugh.
Couture then went into great detail about his newest corner man Andrei Arlovski who will be working the former champs fight. Couture talked about what separates Arlovski from those UFC Champs in their prime in Frank Mir, Ricco Rodriguez and Josh Barnett when they all held the UFC gold.
Couture also discussed how Frank Mir and Heath Herring spent some brief time with Couture training and his take on those training sessions especially with Mir. Is Mir back? What does he expect from Mir in his fight next week?
Couture then discussed his third fight with Liddell. What will be different this time between the two. Randy also went into great detail about the “poke” in his eye.
Would he still have been knocked out by Liddell? Is Randy upset now months after the poke? It’s a very interesting conversation that you can listen to on the radio archive right now as the Natural spent almost a half hour on the show talking about everything very bluntly. He also had a funny conversation with Trigg on who had the worse cauliflower ear and Trigg’s training session with Couture.
Maybe the most interesting thing from the interview is the fact that Couture told MMAWeekly Radio’s Ryan Bennett and Frank Trigg that he has signed a new three fight deal. He goes into detail about what he wants to do this upcoming year with his fight career. Very interesting show today that you can listen to right now on the Radio Archive which is part of the MMA Premium package.
