The latest winner from the “Ultimate Fighter” is headed back to the Octagon.
Court McGee, who won season 11 of the reality show, will get back in action at UFC 121 in Anaheim, CA against Ryan Jensen.
The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the fight with bout agreements soon to be issued and signed shortly thereafter. The fight was first reported by MMAJunkie.com on Monday.
During his stint on the “Ultimate Fighter” reality show, Court McGee (10-1) became known as one of the toughest, and most competitive fighters to ever step foot on the show. He brought to light his past struggles with drugs and addiction, and became a favorite amongst fans for his work ethic and honesty.
In the show’s finale, McGee took out former housemate Kris McCray by rear naked choke in the 2nd round, to win the guaranteed contract with the UFC, and now looks to build on that win, which was his 4th in a row overall.
Hoping to derail the “Ultimate Fighter” winner will be multi-time UFC veteran Ryan Jensen (15-6) coming off an impressive submission win over Jesse Forbes in May. Jensen has had some ups and downs in the Octagon, currently sporting a 2-4 record overall in the promotion, but hopes to build on his last victory when he returns in October.
The upcoming UFC 121 show takes place in Anaheim, CA with heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar putting his title on the line against Cain Velasquez in the main event.
