UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will put his belt on the line against Lyoto Machida at UFC 175 on Saturday, July 5, in Las Vegas. It marks his first title fight against someone other than Anderson Silva.

      Machida thinks he has the advantage standing up. Yeah, in a kickboxing match. But because of takedowns, he can’t just kick whenever he wants like Weidman can. Also, Weidman was able to fight Anderson for over 2 rounds standing up, and he wasn’t being dominated like all the other guys have been. In fact, he won almost every single standup exchange with Anderson Silva. That’s not easy.

        Machida has the advantage standing. Machida is hard to take down. He will keep the distance and Knock Weidman out.

          It should be a good fight. We will see if the Vegas odds are correct (Weidman being a 2:1 favorite).
