Former UFC fighter Charlie Brenneman will look to walk a path back to the Octagon beginning in January when he returns to action and starts life as a lightweight.
Brenneman announced via his website that he will now compete at 155lbs after spending his entire UFC career at welterweight.
The longtime member of AMA Fight Club in New Jersey has decided to cut the additional weight, and drop down to lightweight where he will look to have a size and power advantage over his opponents.
For his first fight at 155lbs, Brenneman will return close to home in Altoona, PA to face Eric Irvin as part of the Valley Fight League series where he also competed early in his career.
The fight takes place at the Jaffa Mosque on Jan 19 in his home state of Pennsylvania.
