how can anyone hate this guy? such an entertainer and a humble guy.

    • MuayThaiFood

That’s cute, I’ve never heard of a narcissist described as humble before.

      • Shakir Hanifa

i guess you are one of those Wenderlei fan boys who fight with hatred? its a sport and Chael is best on hyping and selling his fights.

Definition of fanboy from Urban Dictionary:

          2. fanboy
          1. A person who is completely loyal to a game or company reguardless of if they suck or not.
          2. A pathetic insult often used by fanboys themselves to try and put down people who don’t like whatever it is they like.
          3. See fool or SEGA.

You would fall under definition number 2.

Sonnen is a self promoting maniac

How can people dislike Chael & not distinguish between the REAL Sonnen, which was in this interview & the “promoter” Chael Sonnen when he talks loads of crap & disrespects people and/or countries?!? The guy is a very intelligent man, and he knows that you have to be an excellent fighter to make boatloads of cash or become hated, b/c people will pay to see the “heel” get beat up or lose! For those who still think Sonnen is this & that b/c of the crap he said while promoting the Anderson Silva fights….. STFU & grow up!
I think this card will beat the Silva vs. Weidman 2 card….. depending on who else is fighting on UFC 168 in December! Hard to beat UFC 167, this card is STACKED! And I cannot wait to watch the under card, let alone the PPV!

    • MuayThaiFood

I think you are missing something here. If people don’t dislike him then his shtick doesn’t work does it?

    • Shakir Hanifa

Bro!! i cant agree more than this. WELL SAID!!

  • Big Tuna

Brazil had better leave him alone if want to see another event in thier country

  • Marc Livingood

He is also a great fighter except for the spinning back fist I predict wins over rashad and silva

More fighters need to see fighting as business and not personal like Chael and Rashaad. This whole DC Cain thing, “I won’t fight him” is silly and it negates the legitimacy of the sport. It’s sport right? What if the Yankees refused to play the Mets because they’re friends? that’s unthinkable. If Dana wants the UFC to be looked at on par with other major sports he needs to squelch this nonsense, i.e. Rory will fight GSP if Dana says so, DC will fight Cain, etc. Period.

    • MuayThaiFood

I agree with you, in that as a fan, you want to see certain matchups and you don’t care if they are friends or not. Does it really threaten the legitimacy of the sport though? It is a sport obviously but at it’s heart it is a fight with a high likelihood that someone is going to get hurt. The Yankees don’t meet the Mets on the field and try to take each other’s knees out with baseball bats. Baseball is a sport but also a game. You couldn’t describe an MMA bout as that. If two fighters are friends then it’s almost a conflict of interest. You should go out and fight with the mindset that you are going to destroy your opponent, but what kind of friend would want to do that to another. Some guys will and some won’t and some like Machida will if they think the reward is worth it. It’s always going to be a personal choice though because even if Dana tells fighters you’re going to fight or you’re done that person still has a choice.

      • Hugh Shakeshaft

I don’t have a friend in the world who would want to separate me from a business venture that could see me make millions and achieve my personal goals. Cain is literally denying his friend DC millions of dollars and DC is okay with that. I guess I just have to except that reality. A sanctioned MMA fight shouldn’t be personal in the cage, and if it is, then that’s no longer sporting. Trying to “destroy your opponent” does not necessarily mean emotion needs to be involved. Great fighters separate all this out.

chael promotes himself and loves himself.
