FallonFox-2760-LCFA 11 took place on Friday night at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla., marking the Championship Fighting Alliance’s debut on AXS TV.

The main event was a rematch three years in the making, with UFC veterans Mike Kyle and Travis Wiuff squaring off.

Their first bout, under the King of the Cage banner, had a controversial finish that resulted in a no contest ruling, but Kyle left no doubt about Friday night’s fight, knocking Wiuff out just 21 seconds into the fight.

Make no mistake about it, however, the reason that CFA 11 drew a disproportionate amount of attention was due to the public discussion swirling around controversial male-to-female transgender fighter Fallon Fox.

Fox is competing in the CFA’s women’s featherweight tournament with the semifinal round bouts set for Friday night’s event.

Fox squared off with Allanna Jones, immediately going to work on her legs with some solid low kicks. Jones looked a little stiff and seemed to be banking her entire strategy on landing the left hook.

Neither fighter took control of the bout, Fox landing leg kicks throughout, but eating several punches from Jones.

As the fight wore on and the fighters began to tire, Fox was finally able to put Jones on the mat in the third round and secure a modified north-south choke, using her knee on Jones’ neck to cut off the blood flow.

“It’s just kind of a knee ride choke that I picked up,” Fox said of the maneuver after the fight.

Fox now moves on to face Ashlee Evans-Smith in the tournament finals. Evans-Smith received a bye for her semifinal bout when her scheduled opponent, Anna Barone, withdrew from Friday night’s fight prior to weigh-ins, reportedly due to being too far over the 145-pound limit to safely make the bout.

“It’s gonna be an awesome match,” Fox said of her next-round match-up. “Ashlee Smith is a little bit bigger than me.  It’s going to be a hard challenge, but we’re going to rock and win this $20,000.”

Kyle threw a punch like 2 or 3 seconds after the bell after round 2 and Wiuff got knocked out since he dropped his guard to walk back to his corner
