A second middleweight bout has been added to the UFC’s first trip down under at UFC 110 on Feb. 21.
MMAWeekly has learned that Goran Reljic will make a much-anticipated return to the Octagon against C.B. Dollaway on the event’s undercard, which takes place at Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. MMAMadness was the first to report the bout Saturday.
UFC 110 is expected to be headlined by Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cain Velasquez and Michael Bisping vs. Wanderlei Silva, though the promotion has yet to make the lineup official. The event will be available to US fans Saturday on pay per view.
Reljic (8-0), a protege of Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, burst into the Octagon with a second round TKO victory over Wilson Gouveia at UFC 84 last May, but was sidelined by a back injury that forced him to withdraw from a meeting with former contender Thales Leites at UFC 90. Since then, Reljic has been recovering and awaiting his return.
Last year, the Croatian made headlines for a daring rescue of two men who had crashed their car into the Adriatic sea in his hometown of Privlaka.
Filipovic will also return on the Australian card against Miletich Fighting Systems’ Ben Rothwell.
Dollaway (11-2), meanwhile, is on the rebound after defeating newcomer Jay Silva by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 19, reversing a submission loss to Tom Lawlor at UFC 100 which saw him lose consciousness in the first round. The Arizona Combat Sports fighter and “Ultimate Fighter” season eight alum is 3-2 with the promotion.
