In a match-up of welterweights at UFC 90 in Chicago, two former “Ultimate Fighter” members will square off as Josh Burkman faces Pete Sell, who will be making his debut at 170 pounds in this undercard bout for the event.
MMAWeekly.com confirmed the bout with sources close to the fighters on Wednesday.
Burkman will step into the fight against Sell suffering two losses in a row. The first was a fight many feel he won, as he dropped a split decision to Mike Swick in January. The second loss earned him a “Fight of the Night” performance losing by submission to Dustin Hazelett in one of the most exciting contests this year.
Making his debut at 170 pounds, Sell will try to give his fighting career new life after dropping his last three fights in a row. Sell, who trains with former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra, will look to impress in his new weight class.
The match-up between Burkman and Sell will serve as an undercard bout to the main event pitting current middleweight champion Anderson Silva against Patrick Cote for the 185-pound divisional title.
