Tachi Palace Fights 11 may end up being the most injury-riddled card in the promotion’s history.
The latest change to take place involves NCAA champion wrestler Bubba Jenkins who is scheduled to make his fighting debut on the Dec card in California.
Originally he was scheduled to face Chris Huerta, but once again the injury bug struck and according to Tachi Palace Fights officials he will now face Jason Williams instead.
Williams will be making his professional debut just like Jenkins when they meet on the card.
Williams is a former college wrestler from Iowa Central and was a stand-out in high school wrestling as well.
“There isn’t very many people out there eater to fight Bubba Jenkins. I was a little nervous we might not find an opponent actually until I received a call on Jason Williams,” Tachi Palace Fights official Jeremy Luchau said. “I had a feeling if anyone was going to step to the plate to fight him locally it would be someone like Williams, who has a rich wrestling background at Clovis High.”
Jenkins is thought to be one of the brightest prospects to move into MMA after his college wrestling career. The former NCAA champion trains full time at American Top Team in Florida, and will make his pro debut against Williams in just a few weeks.
