Brian Foster will step in for an injured Dong Hyun Kim to meet Chris Lytle at UFC 110.
Kim withdrew from the fight earlier month with an unspecified knee injury. MMAWeekly sources say at least one fighter has verbally agreed to the bout and is awaiting a bout agreement. MMAJunkie was the first to report the match-up Wednesday.
UFC 110 takes place Feb. 21 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia, the promotion’s first trip down under.
Foster (13-4) got back on the winning track at UFC 106, taking out veteran Brock Larson with strikes at UFC 106. The H.I.T. squad-trained fighter fell short in his Octagon debut, submitting to Rick Story at UFC 103 in a battle that won Fight of the Night honors.
Lytle (27-17-5) is no doubt happy to be back in action after suffering ACL and meniscus tears in his knee. The Indianapolis native spent six months on the bench before getting back into the gym. In his last appearance, Lytle defeated Kevin Burns by unanimous decision at “The Ultimate Fighter” season nine finale in June.
UFC 110 is headlined by a heavyweight meeting between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez.
