MMAWeekly.com has learned that Joe “Diesel” Riggs will now step in to face Matt Hughes on just three weeks notice for the UFC Welterweight Championship. Karo Parisyan, who talked to MMAWeekly Radio just days ago told MMAWeekly.com “My injury is just getting worse and worse. I wanted to give the UFC as much time as possible, but it’s not getting any better.”

That means the Diesel, who stepped and looked very good in his initial fight at 170 vs Chris Lytle will step up to fight Hughes. “I’m honored to get a title show against Hughes..” Riggs told MMAWeekly.com. “I was already getting ready to fight anyway, I’m always in good shape, I will be ready.”
