The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Tuesday officially released four additional bouts for its April 2 return to Colorado.
UFC Fight Night 13 already had an announced main event of Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon. Other fights that were already slated to make the telecast on Spike TV included Karo Parisyan vs. Thiago Alves and Stephan Bonnar vs. Matt Hamill.
The four additional bouts released on Tuesday are slated for the preliminary card and may not air on television. Those bouts include Marcus Aurelio vs. Spencer Fisher, Din Thomas vs. Josh Neer, Clay Guida vs. Samy Schiavo, and Tommy Speer vs. Anthony Johnson.
The April 2 event at the Broomfield Event Center will be the UFC’s first event in the state since December of 1995. The facility has a capacity of 6,000 for sports such as hockey and basketball, but is able to hold closer to 7,500 for concerts and other special events.
Despite going on sale little more than two weeks ago, MMAWeekly sources indicate that the event is nearing sell-out capacity with more than 5,000 tickets already snatched up.
