Shortly after announcing a featherweight bout between Mark Hominick and Eddie Yagin for UFC 145 in Montreal, UFC officials added a lightweight bout to the mix as well. Mark Bocek and Matt Wiman will meet at the Bell Centre on March 24.
Just a couple years ago, Bocek (10-4) was on a three-fight winning streak, rocketing up the lightweight ranks. But over his past four fights, the Canadian fighter has alternated between wins and losses, most recently coming off of a victory over Nik Lentz at UFC 140 in Toronto.
Wiman (13-6) was on a similar three-fight streak before losing to Dennis Siver at UFC 132. He returned to the Octagon in October, winning a decision over Mac Danzig in the UFC on Versus 6 Fight of the Night.
The two will now battle it out at UFC 145, trying to rebuild the lost momentum.
