Dana White Teaches Jimmy Fallon How To Punch
Jimmy Fallon, the gangly host of a his self-titled late-night show on NBC, received some boxing lessons from UFC president Dana White on Tuesday.
White made the appearance as part of a media blitz for the UFC's new video game, "Undisputed," which hit stores the same day.
After a brief history of modern MMA time, White helped Fallon strap on gloves and throw punches (and a few roundhouses) at the UFC branded bag.
Audience members, perhaps not accustomed to the sight of two men grappling, tittered at a video clip of a sample game between UFC 98 main eventers Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans.
Fallon, looking incongruous in a dapper suit and boxing gloves, first gave himself the nickname, "The Gentleman," before White dubbed him "Slim Jim" Fallon.
While Fallon touted his reach, he wouldn't be fighting any time soon.
"I'm scaring the audience members," he said.Labels: Dana White, UFC Undisputed 2009

You Will See Royce Gracie in the Octagon Again... If You're a Gamer
Yes, Royce Gracie will grace the Octagon once again, although it will be a much more animated version of the man who dominated the early mixed martial arts scene in America.
No, he's not going to step in and fight Anderson Silva or anything of that sort, Royce will be a part of UFC Undisputed 2009 when it is released this Spring. He's also the subject of a documentary that the UFC is working on for Spike TV.
"The thing with Royce is... we love Royce. He's the man who started it all," said UFC president Dana White on Tuesday. "We're doing a documentary on him on Spike; he's going to be in the video game. We're doing lots of stuff with him still."
White pretty much squashed the idea of Royce returning to the UFC to actually compete in the Octagon again. At least it's something that he doesn't want to see happen.
"To be honest with ya, I don't want to see Royce fight again. Like what happened last Saturday (referring to Oscar De La Hoya's dismantling by Manny Pacquiao), we all get older. Royce paid his dues. He's the man and I don't think he has anything to prove... so I don't think you're going to see him fight."
Royce Gracie becomes the 13th fighter that has been publicly named for UFC Undisputed 2009. The list also includes: Brock Lesnar, Michael Bisping, Matt Hughes, Forrest Griffin, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Chuck Liddell, Wanderlei Silva, Kenny Florian, Joe Stevenson, Roger Huerta, B.J. Penn, and Anderson Silva.Labels: Dana White, Royce Gracie, UFC Undisputed 2009

UFC Undisputed 2009's Dirty Dozen... More On The Way
The Ultimate Fighting Championship and THQ -- the developer of the mixed martial arts promotion's new video game, "UFC Undisputed 2009" -- thus far has released only a dozen of the confirmed fighters for the Spring 2009 release, according to Avi Burk of IGN.com.
The list contains a mix of UFC veterans, Ultimate Fighter alums, and, of course, the new UFC heavyweight champion.
The UFC Undisputed 2009 roster as of Tuesday, Nov. 25 includes: Brock Lesnar, Michael Bisping, Matt Hughes, Forrest Griffin, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Chuck Liddell, Wanderlei Silva, Kenny Florian, Joe Stevenson, Roger Huerta, B.J. Penn, and Anderson Silva.
If your favorite fighter isn't yet on the list, don't fret, word is that there will be more than 80 fighters on the final roster, spanning all five weight classes.

Florian and Stevenson Rematch Could Happen Sooner Than Expected... Sort Of

Avi Burk, IGN.com's official gatekeeper of roster announcements for the UFC's pending release "UFC Undisputed 2009," last week announced that Brock Lesnar has officially been made part of the game.
The game, set for a release in Spring of 2009, is being developed from the ground up by THQ. It will not be built upon any of the UFC's past efforts in the gaming industry and promises to be a leap forward in the genre.
Well, the real-life fight already played out at UFC 91 -- where Kenny Florian surprisingly finished Joe Stevenson with a rear naked choke near the end of the first round -- but fans, and even the fighters themselves, will soon be able to recreate the action as Burk says that Florian and Stevenson are the latest official additions to the UFC Undisputed 2009 roster.
Who knows, maybe Stevenson can use the game to help sharpen his strategy for a rematch. He and Florian are two of the brightest stars in the UFC lightweight division. They certainly have to fall into the "highly probable" category for a potential rematch.
