Nick Diaz's Test Results for Drugs of Abuse
A week after he thumbed his nose at the California State Athletic Commission's drug testing policies, MMAInsider has learned the outcome of Nick Diaz's post-Strikeforce test for drugs of abuse.
According to Bill Douglas, CSAC's Assistant Executive Officer, they are negative.
In an interview with the LA Times the week before the fight, Diaz claimed he could beat the Accutest drug screens employed by the commission using herbal urine cleansers.
"Diaz was fine," wrote Douglas via email. "The test went through a full battery which checks for cleansing agents."
Though Diaz claimed to have a long history of getting stoned in his hotel room the night before a fight, in the end, the talk may have just been a smokescreen.Labels: CSAC, Nick Diaz

i've trained with the Diaz brothers, and they have nothing but respect for this sport. Fighters work harder than anyone, let the guy smoke some weed.
I love that he announced he was going to pass the test despite smoking weed. Hilarious. That's gotta irritate the hell out of CSAC.
I would have no problem fighting a person that smokes weed, but if the person took steroids, that's bullshit.
Imagine how Kenny Florian feel's after losing a 5 round decision to a Roided up Sherk and Sherk still walks away with the title "champion".
Why bother testing for weed?
I doubt it was a "smokescreen". He has said before that he has gave dirty urin samples in the past while in UFC, but that is a different story
Why bother testing for weed or any other drug? Have you ever seen those "Cops" videos when they are trying to subdue or apprehend a suspect that is high on drugs? Often times its much more difficult. Watch the Gomi fight and you can see that Diaz was getting wrecked in his face from the puches, but he kept coming --- far more so that a normal fighter would have -- its b/c as the NSAC Head said b/c Diaz was numbed to the pain.... due in part to his high THC levels indicating Marajauna usage way above whats allowed. Look at Diaz in his post-fight interview.. he's wearing shades, b/c his cuts are so bad above and below the eyes....but he kept coming the whole time like it was nothing.
The above comment was written by somebody who has obviously never smoked weed. Marijuana would be much more of detriment in a fight than a benefit. No effects in dulling pain. The COPS shows that you are watching are more consistent with users of cocaine, pcp etc.
Anyone who thinks weed "numbs pain" is a moron. Go smoke a joint and let your buddy hit you in the face if you think it works like that. It relaxes your muscles its not meth you retard.
Go take an MMA class, just one time, your body will be sore for a week. EVERY muscle. Most of those Tatted dbags take Percocets and Lortabs, Diaz smokes a plant, thats it.

Diaz is solid but I cant stand him. I don't understand the "punk" attitude. It really shows their(nick and nate) immaturity but probably gives them the attention they are looking for. Still, if it wasn't for fighting these guys would probably not have a job. Hopefully, for their sake, they grow up.
