Gomi, Kid Yamamoto And Others At UFC 94
 There are always a number of stars that come out for any UFC event, but tonight in Las Vegas the royalty of Japanese mixed martial arts has come out to see Georges St. Pierre battle B.J. Penn.
Former Pride lightweight champion Takanori Gomi, prized bantamweight and featherweight fighter, Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto, Olympic Gold medalist Satoshi Ishii, and Caol Uno are all in attendance at UFC 94 to see the action at tonight's show.
UFC President Dana White has made it no secret that he wouldn't mind landing any or all of the above competitors. White has also mentioned top rated middleweight competitor, Yoshohiro Akiyama, as a fighter the promotion would like to add as well.
"Kid" Yamamoto was seen several times this week in Dana's blog, and the top ranked Japanese fighter stopped for a photo opportunity in the Octagon with the president.Labels: Caol Uno, Dana White, Kid Yamamoto, Satoshi Ishii, Takanori Gomi, UFC 94

It looks like Dana is trying to take a stab at a now disheveled Japanese MMA market. He's taking some pretty good steps towards that by wooing names like Gomi and Kid.
gotta say, Kid is a friend of mine and, I have always wondered why he has not come to UFC before this... He is an expirenced, Shooto fighter, K-1, K-1 dynamite (MMA) and a gold medalist... what took, Dana so long to sign him on. Anyway go get them, Nori and show these mofo's what you got! Just to let ANYONE know who hast seen him before, Kid's ground and stand up are FANTASTIC and when he goes to ground and pund... God have mercy.. your fucked!

Great for trying to bring in Kid, but I'd pass on Gomi. He just doesn't seem to have the same drive anymore and yet would still command top dollar because of his name.
Akiyama & Yamamoto in the UFC is going to be nuts!
