Source: Jardine Will Not Fight Liddell in March
During a recent radio appearance with "The Tom Leykis Show" earlier this month, former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell said he'd like a rematch with Keith Jardine. The Greg Jackson-trained fighter defeated Liddell at UFC 76 by gutsy three round decision.
"There's been a few names," he said. "We have Jardine listed. We want him in March."
Despite several reports assuring the fight, a source close to Jardine's camp says he will not lock horns with Liddell at UFC 96 on March 7 in Columbus, Oh.
Jardine will, however, return against an unnamed opponent during the "Arnold Classic" weekend card.
In the meantime, Jardine will corner friend and teammate Rashad Evans as he attempts to summit the light heavyweight division against current champ Forrest Griffin.
