Forrest Griffin Suffers Broken Hand In Loss

MMAWeekly.com was on the scene at UFC 92 and following the light heavyweight title fight on Saturday night, now former champion Forrest Griffin left the arena to head to the hospital and get treated for a broken hand.

It is unknown at this time at what point in the fight Griffin suffered the broken hand, but he had mentioned in his post fight comments that he was heading to the hospital.

It was assumed at the time the trip was for a possible concussion with the TKO suffered to end the fight.

Griffin looked very good in his first title defense, but fell victim to a vicious ground and pound attack from new champion, Rashad Evans, who won his first UFC title while keeping his record perfect in the process.

with evans as the new champion, and rampage having an impressive performance, who do you think should have the next title shot. IMO i think if shogun beats coleman he should fight rampage and the winner of that should get the title shot. or the winner of lyoto machida vs thiago silva should face rampage. also in the heavyweight division i think cheick kongo vs gabriel gonzaga would be a good matchup for the winner of mir vs lesnar. Im not really familiar with fighters in the heavyweight division except for the popular ones. so give us ur opinions

coleman vs shogun has no barring on the Lightheavy weight division right now and I think lyoto is the obvious candidate, but he has not proven that he can finish a fight. lyoto and Okami should fight for the most technical fighters of the year. They would both win a "bassie" haha Boring!!!

Rashad looked like crap. Forrest was picking him apart unitl Rashad caught his leg and rocked him in the 3rd. Anyone could have put someone down with that gift. The GNP was after Forrest was already rocked, so how hard was that? IMO, Rampage, Shogun or Lyoto will own Rashad.

I agree with some of you. WTF is up with the dropping you hands, blowing a kiss just because you got the shitty end of some exchange in the fight. Rashad is nothing more than a great athlete who has to have the perfect opportunity to win the fight he is in unless he is fighting someone at the bottom of the barrel, he isn't good enough to make it happen with a top tier fighter.

Rashad Rocked. Forrest was hurting, his had was broke, and his leg was messed up. Watch the fight again, you'll see in the second round that Forrest was favoring his right leg.

Rashad is a GREAT fighter, and will stand up and trash anyone else in his weight class.

Lyoto deserves the next time shot. He isn't the most entertaining or popular fighter, but with his skill and impressive record he stands above all the other contenders.

Lyoto has to be the next in line for the title. After impressive wins over Ortiz and Sokoudjou. That is after he defeats Thiago Silva on UFC 94.
