After an epic battle with Mark Hunt at UFC Fight Night 33 in Australia in December, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva had been hoping for a quick turn to fight again. But after the draw with Hunt, which almost no one argued the result, Silva tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone.

The blown test results cost Silva his $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus and put him on the sidelines with a nine-month suspension.

Silva decided to take advantage of the down time to clean up some lingering issues with his shoulder, went in for surgery, and then posted the above picture of him a few hours later.

“After hours of surgery in my shoulder I’m very well and I will be back 100% thank you everyone…” wrote Silva.

      That is trying, so hard

He took his next scheduled shot the week of the fight. The guy has acromegaly and legitimate health issues and was not shooting “roids” like some fiend

Whatever campaign you’re on, I think Silva is the wrong red herring. The man has his parents tattooed on his arm; he isn’t exactly Greg Valentino

And if it were his first time getting dinged there would be sympathy. This is not his first suspension. I agree he does have medical concerns but the reality is, he is being tested the same as all other fighters. I am sure when he disputed this, the commision took into consideration his medical status. We do not typically see what is discussed behind closed doors.
