UFC Tonight put out the news about the fight’s addition to the card, which is set to take place on Feb. 28 in Los Angeles.
Silva (18-6-1) will come into the bout looking for his first win in over two years by the time fight happens. In his previous three outings, “Bigfoot” has gone 0-2-1, and his most recent fight came to an end with a first-round knockout at the hands of Andrei Arlovski.
Mir (16-9) is also coming into the fight off a bad stretch, having experienced the longest losing streak of his career at four. The last time Mir experienced a win was in December 2011 when he submitted Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 140.
UFC 184 is scheduled to be headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort. The co-main event features women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey defending her title against Cat Zingano.
