ONE FC: Warriors Way, which is set for the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila on Dec. 5, now has a main event with Bibiano Fernandes set to defend his bantamweight title against undefeated challenger Dae Hwan Kim.

Fernandes (16-3) has not lost a fight in the 135-pound division since 2007, and will be looking to register a ninth successive win in a streak that has seen him win the Dream Bantamweight Grand Prix, as well as becoming the ONE FC champion.

Kim (10-0-1) comes from a Muay Thai background and has been calling for a title shot ever since his impressive first-round submission win over Kevin Belingon in Kuala Lumpur earlier this year.

Fernandes won an interim version of the title by defeating Koetsu Okazaki last year, unified the belt five months later with a win over reigning champion Soo Chul Kim, and then defended it successfully with a third consecutive decision win against Masakatsu Ueda in May.

The co-main event sees Brandon Vera take on Igor Subora, as the UFC veteran, who will no longer be competing at 205 pounds, makes his long-awaited ONE FC debut against URCC heavyweight champion Igor Subora.

Vera (12-7) is Filipino-American and will be fighting in Manila for the first time, while Subora (5-1) is a longterm resident in the Philippines, who is riding a five-fight winning streak and will also be making his ONE FC debut.

The card, which will be ONE FC’s fifth in Manila, is also likely to feature top Filipino fighters Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon, Honorio Banario, and Ana Julaton, with more match-ups set to be announced over the coming weeks.

That’s likely two title fights, one at bantamweight and another at featherweight with a great card mixed with local and international stars. I predict a five rounds war back and forth with Bibiano winning via decision. Can’t wait. Many people will watch live worldwide even in Brasil where it is televised live.
