Benson Henderson vs. Rafael dos Anjos to Headline UFC Fight Night Tulsa

Benson Henderson UFC 150 w_3529-478x270A lightweight match between Benson Henderson and Rafael dos Anjos has been booked for UFC Fight Night in Tulsa, Oklahoma, officials announced on Tuesday evening.

The 155-pound affair will be the featured bout of the developing card, which is scheduled to take place Aug. 23 in the city’s BOK Center, according to a report from Tulsa World.

Henderson (21-3) is on a two-fight winning streak since losing the UFC lightweight title to Anthony Pettis in August 2013. Most recently, “Bendo” finished Rustam Khabilov with a rear-naked choke in the headlining bout at UFC Fight Night Albuquerque.

Dos Anjos (21-7) has won six out of his last seven since 2012. In his last outing, dos Anjos finished Jason High in the second round on the same card Henderson won his last bout.

More fights for the UFC Fight Night Tulsa card are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

  1. I honestly don’t know why, but I root against Bendo every time.. I don’t even know why I don’t like the guy

    • I started out a fan of Bendo but over time I just couldn’t stand watching his fights. Watching him grind out decision wins over and over just sucked. Can’t put my finger on it but it just wasn’t fun to watch. I’ll admit he looked good in his last fight tho. More aggressive, looked more lean and got the finish for once!

  2. nurmagomedov beat dos anjos a short while ago, and he is 21-0. wouldn’t it make more sense to put Henderson vs nurmagomedov? they need to give this guy a big name.

    • Hopefully it’s because they’re giving Nurgagomedov the next title shot.

  3. Damnit! No one wants to watch Ben Smooth in a Main Event! Great job Joe Silva. I will be keeping my money and time by skipping this sorry event.

    • Its a Free card man. No wasted money as least!

      • I live in Tulsa and was hoping for a decent headliner. Shoot, Lauzon vs Cheisea would have been awesome. This whole summer is poor. I do not see myself buying a fight until Sept.

    • Lol How much do you normally pay for UFC Fight NIght?
